This style became popular in Europe in the 19th century an became favorite hobby of the European aristocracy. It was appreciated both by court ladies and by crown-bearers. Today embroidery is still a popular hobby. You can create beautiful and volumetric patterns combining different colors and sizes of ribbons. This embroidery style can be applied in clothes adorning, creating decorative pillows, panels, blankets, etc. There are the following methods of ribbon embroidery like “rococo” knot, colonial knot, French knot, “buttonhole” stitch, “capture” stitch, ribbon stitch, loop stitch, “needle forward” stitch, and straight stitch.
